Isla Finney MA (Cantab), MSc (Oxon), DPhil (Oxon), FRMetS, CMath, CSciDirector
“Any forecast needs an associated estimate of uncertainty in order to be useful.”
Isla founded Lake Street Consulting Ltd in 2014, and has 15 years’ commercial experience in the energy markets. For 12 of those, she has been providing operational weather forecasts, drawing on her academic work which looked into the sources of error in numerical weather forecasts which limit their accuracy.
Time on the trading floor means she is used to working to tight deadlines, making independent decisions and leading the pack in terms of forecast calls. Large monetary value associated with these decisions has honed her ability to communicate clearly and assess accuracy. Time working as a consultant has contributed to her ability to listen to clients and work towards their end goal.
Isla holds a MA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge, a MSc in Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Analysis and a DPhil in Applied Mathematics and Atmospheric Physics, both from the University of Oxford. Her past employers include Entergy Koch Trading, Merrill Lynch, D.E. Shaw and ILEX Energy Consulting.
Bethany Jackson BSc, MScMeteorologist
