Quantifying the usefulness of European subseasonal forecasts using a real-world energy-sector framework

May 5, 2020Lake Street Consulting LtdUncategorizedComments Off on Quantifying the usefulness of European subseasonal forecasts using a real-world energy-sector framework

Josh Dorrington was an intern at Lake Street from the Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics department of the University of Oxford during the summer of 2019, thanks to a NERC award.

Josh gave a (virtual) presentation at the European Geophysical Union General Assembly based on work done during his internship. The title of the presentation was as above but it is not, unfortunately available online.

The slide below gives a flavour of what the talk was about, with a peer reviewed paper currently in review so hopefully the full read will be available soon!

About Lake Steet Consulting

Lake Street Consulting's aim is to make weather forecasts and energy market information more accessible to businesses.

Whilst you can get generic weather forecasts easily, one needs a relatively high 'threshold knowledge' about computer modelling of the weather to get the best forecast for a given business: Lake Street Consulting has that knowledge.

Many energy market consultants know the theory but haven't had exposure to markets: Lake Street Consulting has market experience and is willing to share insights.
